Head Junior Varsity Coach

 

Coach Maas is in his 4th season coaching for the Golden Eagles. He spent the past 2 years coaching JV and 1 year with the Freshman with the MV Football program.

Coach Maas earned a degree in Elementary Education at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. He played Nose Tackle for the University of Washington- Eau Clair, as well as guard in high school. “The game of football is 90% Mental and 30% Physical. You do the math!” is the philosophy he employs when coaching up and coming football players.

Coach Maas enjoys snowboarding and riding his motorcycle. He has been married to his wife Katy for 1 year.

Shawn Larkin

Defensive Line

 

Coach Larkin is the MVHS JV defensive line coach for the 4th season. Prior to MVHS he coached Offensive and Defensive Line at Troy high school in northern Iowa.

Coach Larkin graduated from University of Idaho. He played Defensive Nose Guard at Walla Walla Community College and one year of semi-pro with the Palouse Thunder in Idaho.

Coach Larkin enjoys mentoring boys to become young men and develop life skills to take them further in life. He believes that “We are what we repeatedly do; Excellence is then not an action but a habit” (Aristotle).

Coach Larkin’s full time hobby, interest and pastime is coaching.
